Key Milestones in our School's History

  • 2001-2002: Classes began in December 2001 with new teachers Mr.C.A.S. Vino Vigilious, Mr. Mohan, Mrs. Josephine and Mrs. Annalakshmi.

    • The first Republic Day was celebrated on January 26, 2002 with Dr. Rajaram IAS, Director of Rural Development as chief guest. The first Parent cum Annual Day was celebrated on May 22, 2002 with PMJF Lion G. Nagarajan, as the Chief Guest.

    • On September 29, 2002, Thiru Thambidurai, the Hon'ble Education Minister of Tamil Nadu, officially inaugurated the Community School, in the presence Rev. Bro. Rene Delorme, the Superior General of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel and a large gathering of tribals from all the 18 villages. On the same day, Thiru. Semmalai, the Hon'ble Health Minister, inaugurated the Health Centre.

    • Later that year, on November 9, 2002, Thiru. Perumasamy, Director of SCERT, visited the school, offering encouragement for this humanitarian service for the underprivileged.

    • On November 30, 2002, Dr. C. Palanivelu, Director of Government Examinations, visited and distributed slippers to the tribal students. He expressed his deep appreciation to the Brothers and members of staff for giving quality education to the tribal children.

  • 2002-2003: The student strength increased, and further school expansion began. Bro. Amalanathan, Mrs. Ancy Mathew, Ms. Shoba, Mrs. Sahayamary and Mrs. Amsaveni joined the teaching staff.

  • 2003-2004: Student strength rose to 261. On 20 November 2003, primary classrooms were inaugurated by Mr. R. Kannan, Director of Elementary Education. He took urgent and positive steps to grant recognition to the Primary classes up to Std. V. On 25 November 2003, the Tamil Nadu School Education Department officially recognized the School as a tribal Community School. We are extremely grateful to late Thiru R. Kannan.

  • 2004-2005: Bro. Lawrence Gabriel joined the school. The student count increased t383, several teachers were added, and the Student Council was inaugurated on 3 September 2004 with Mr. Ayyar IAS, Director of Civil Supplies Deparment, as chief guest.

  • 2005-2006: Twelve students represented Tamil Nadu at the All India Cultural Festival in New Delhi. The first standalone Annual Sports Day was held with Mr. Krishnamoorthy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, as chief guest. The 4th Parent and Annual Day were celebrated on 7 May 2005.

  • 2006-2007: The school expanded into Primary, Middle, and Higher Secondary sections, with a total of 518 students. New facilities like labs, a library, and gardens were added. The Std. X was introduced with special coaching and hostel facilities. The school band was launched on 22 August 2006. On March 17, 2007, government recognition for Higher Secondary sections was granted. In March 2007, 22 students appeared for the Std. X board exams and all of them passed with good marks

  • 2007-2008: Thirteen, Class 10 students and six Class 12 private candidates appeared for board exams, all passing with 100% results.

  • 2008-2009: Student strength rose t687. All 21 students of Class 10 achieved a 100% pass for the third consecutive year and for the first time, all 23 students of Class 12 also secured a 100% pass rate.

  • 2009-2010: Student enrollment reached 813. A new kitchen block was inaugurated by Mr. Oscar Fernandes, Minister for Minister for Transport, Road and Highways and Labour and Employment. School secured 100% results in the public exams. With 45 students from Std. X and 15 students from Std. XII passing with good marks

  • 2010-2011: Student strength grew t875. The theme for the academic year was “Be the Light.” A new kitchen and 20 toilets were constructed. Class 10 achieved a 96% pass rate (46 students), and Class 12 had an 89% pass rate (17 students). Bro. Anthony and Bro. Peter Rajan joined the school.

  • 2011-2012: Enrollment increased t922. For this year, the school adopted the theme "Liberate... be a leader." A basketball court and staff block were built, and toilet facilities were renovated. Both Class 10 and 12 achieved 100% pass rates. Sr. Benitta and Sr. Sauriyammal from the Daughters of Wisdom, along with Fr. Francis Xavier from the Company of Mary, joined the School as staff members, along with Bro. John Paul.

  • 2012-2013: The enrolment in the School reached 955 students. The school theme for the year was: "Give up to go up...". Class 10 students achieved a 99% pass rate, and Class 12 secured 100%. Rev. Bro. Jacob Ezhanikatt joined the School particularly to guide and provide counseling support to students and staff members.

  • 2013-2014: Student strength was 891. The theme of the year was "Stop the excuses... challenge yourself," inspiring students to overcome obstacles and take charge of their own progress. Major infrastructure additions included 12 new rooms. Class 10 secured 99% while Class 12 secured 93%. The teaching faculty was further enriched with the addition of Sr. Selvi, Sr. Vimala from Holy Family, Fr. Suresh OCD, and Bro. Joseph.

  • 2014-2015: The school had 830 students during the year. Our theme for the year, "Smart Work - the Stepping Stone to Success," highlights the value of working smart to succeed. All 57 Class 10 students passed with 100% results. Five students secured 100/100 in Social Science. Class 12 saw 96% pass rate. English medium was introduced from Standard I.

  • 2015-2016: Student strength was 850. Three borewells were sunk for drinking water. Only one of them was yielding some portable water. All 62 Class 12 students passed with distinction. The theme of the year is "Smart Work – the Stepping Stone to Success."

  • 2016-2017: With 883 students, the school embraced the motto “Learn thoroughly to achieve” A boundary wall was constructed for the playground. All 48 Class 12 and 58 Class 10 students passed. Top scorers: Kanagavalli (1128/1200), Dhanalakshmi (1104), Sathya (1089). Bro. George K.J., the founder and Principal of the school, began residing on the campus.

  • 2017-2018: The total strength of the school reached 801 students, ushering in a phase of greater growth and prosperity. The theme of the year, “I will, because I think I can,” encouraged students to believe in themselves and do their best. Three new classrooms were added. Classes 10 (63 students), 11 (50 students), and 12 (44 students) all achieved 100% pass rates. Through the unwavering efforts of our Principal, the school and hostel were granted financial support by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.

  • 2018-2019: With 830 students, the year started under the theme “My School, Gateway to My Success.” The first batch of English medium Std. X students appeared for the public exams. All students in Classes 10, 11, and 12 passed with 100% results.

  • 2019-2020: Student strength was 846. The theme was “Education for Growth and Empowerment.” Bro. Antony P.J. joined the teaching staff and began residing on the school campus. All board exam classes secured 100% results. As a result of our Principal’s dedicated efforts, the school and hostel received funding from the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the school was closed in mid-March 2019. However, our dedicated teachers organized daily village visits and conducted classes and other activities.

  • 2020–2021: Due to the lack of internet facilities and the inability of poor tribal students to afford mobile phones or laptops, our dedicated staff continued to visit their villages to ensure continuity in learning during the COVID-19 lockdown, upholding the theme “Education for a Disease-Free World.”

  • 2021–2022: With 830 students, the school resumed classes under “Learn Consistently for Health and Well-being.” Class 12 (56 students) and Class 11 (86 students) had 100% pass rates, and Class 10 recorded 99%. The playground wall which had collapsed due to heavy rains, was rebuilt with concrete reinforcement.

  • 2022–2023: Beginning with 958 students under the theme “Education for Character Formation,” Class 12 (76 students) and Class 11 (55 students) secured 100%, and Class 10 achieved 99%.

  • 2023-2024: The year began with 967 students and the motto “Perseverance… road to Success.” A large toilet complex with bathing rooms, urinals and laundry facilities was constructed for the students with help of Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss and many other benefactors. Classes 10 (72 students), 11 (47 students), and 12 (49 students) achieved 100% pass rates. Miss S. Abhi of Class 10 scored 100/100 in Mathematics.

  • 2024-2025: The academic year commenced with an enrollment of 915 students, and the theme for the year was “Learning to do…”, highlighting the importance of the Four Pillars of Education as envisioned by UNESC - learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together and learning to be.

    The new toilet complex for the students was inaugurated by Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, Member of Parliament, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of campus infrastructure. Additionally, two new classrooms were added for Kindergarten students.

    Continuing the school’s tradition of academic excellence, students of Standards X, XI, and XII once again secured 100% results. In Std. XII, Master Sivabalan secured a perfect 100/100 in Commerce and Computer Applications; Master Manoj Kumar scored 100/100 in Computer Science and Master Manivannan scored 100/100 in Computer Applications. In Standard X, Miss Manimegalai and Master Nithish obtained 100/100 in Social Studies.
